Mr. Stewart Dental Support

"Mr. Stewart came to Hungry 4 Change with a long-standing dental concern that was affecting both his health and confidence. Over the course of many months, our team supported him by advocating for assistance, coordinating with local officials, and following up consistently with the Montgomery County Dental Program.
After a long journey, Mr. Stewart completed his final dental implant crowns. He shared that his smile has significantly improved and that his confidence has grown tremendously. In his own words, “This accomplishment would not have been possible without your assistance. I find myself smiling more than ever now.”

Mr. Cuella’s Journey to Stability

During a clothing distribution event at Interfaith Works, we had the privilege of supporting Mr. Cuella, a new community member navigating the challenges of starting over in an unfamiliar environment. While assisting at the event, our team connected with Mr. Cuella to assess his immediate and long-term needs. We provided Mr. Cuella with information about nearby food banks to support his household’s immediate needs. He now regularly visits these food banks, ensuring a reliable source of nourishment for himself and his family. Our team worked closely with Mr. Cuella throughout the process, offering patient and personalized guidance as he learned to navigate local systems and resources. We are proud to be part of his journey toward stability and independence

Milagro’s Journey Towards Higher Education and Career

Milagro was a high school graduate who was referred to us by her mother, with whom we had been working to provide food resources. Milagro was unsure of her next steps in pursuing her future goals. She expressed a strong desire to continue her education but lacked the guidance and knowledge needed to navigate the college application process.
We worked closely with Milagro to explore her aspirations and provide guidance. We met at the Montgomery County Public Library and helped her map out a plan for her future. Together, we guided her through the application process for Montgomery College, ensuring she had the support she needed to successfully apply. Additionally, we helped Milagro create a professional resume, equipping her to secure a job to save money for her tuition. Our team continues to follow up with her, providing encouragement and assistance as she takes these exciting steps toward her academic and professional aspirations.

Ms. Irma Life’s Challenges

Ms. Irma is a single mother who reached out to us when she needed help finding clothing and food for her children. She explained how overwhelming it was to navigate these challenges, especially since she wasn’t comfortable using technology to schedule appointments or find resources. We helped her schedule an appointment with Interfaith Works, a partner that provides clothing donations. Thanks to this connection, she was able to pick up clothing for her children, and she later returned to get more clothing and food to help her family.
Not long after, Ms. Irma reached out to us again, this time with a different concern. She wasn’t feeling well and needed to see a doctor, but she didn’t have insurance and wasn’t sure where to go. Understanding how stressful this situation was for her, we helped connect her with Aastha Adult Medical Day Care, a program that offers free medical consultations every other Saturday for families with low incomes. Irma was able to meet with a doctor and get the care she needed, all without worrying about how she would pay for it.
